There are many styles of breast
form available, from economic foam to expensive silicone and ultra realistic
mastectomy forms, to forms you can safely sleep, swim, run and hottub in. They
come in teardrop or triangular shapes, with or without nipples.
Generally silicone filled forms
feel more like real breasts as they warm to the body temperature and have
enough weight to move realistically. Rubber or foam forms don’t have the same
weight or feel.
Each type of form fulfils a
particular task. Teardrop shapes have an extension
to fill either the upper chest wall or the underarm. Triangular shapes have an
extension to fill the upper chest wall and ‘wings’ to fill out the bra on the
underarm. These usually give the most realistic shape. Enhancers (or ‘chicken fillets’)
augment and pad out existing breast tissue for those with small breasts.
It's worth getting a good pair of
well fitting silicone forms, as much as your budget can afford, as they will
feel great and will move and look just like the real thing!
Be careful with your forms as they
are delicate and easily damaged. Don’t sleep in them, take care when washing
them (use mild soapy water) and try not to spear them with your long nails.
